Geoinformatics Research Days 2026 11-12.5.2026

Geoinformatics Research Days 2026 will take place on May 11–12, 2026, in Helsinki, Finland. The event is organized by the University of Helsinki together with the Fiuginet network, and participation is free of charge.

The program also includes the final event of the Geospatial Challenge Camp 2026, where teams will present their solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. This year’s Challenge Camp focuses on Sustainable Mobility and Transportation.

Geoinformatics Research Days welcomes contributions from all areas of geospatial research and applications, offering an open platform for sharing ideas, methods, and innovations across the discipline.

The 2026 spotlight theme, Geospatial Intelligence for Sustainable Futures, explores how emerging forms of spatial intelligence and AI are transforming our understanding of people, places, and the complex systems that connect them.
