Geoinformatics Research Days 2026 will take place on May 11–12 in Helsinki, Finland. The event is organized by the University of Helsinki together with the Fiuginet network.
Geoinformatics Research Days welcomes contributions from all areas of geospatial research and applications, offering an open platform for sharing ideas, methods, and innovations across the discipline.
The 2026 theme, Geospatial Intelligence for Sustainable Futures, explores how emerging forms of spatial intelligence and AI are transforming our understanding of people, places, and the complex systems that connect them. The program includes keynote presentations, research talks, and a panel discussion.
The event also features the Final Event of the Geospatial Challenge Camp 2026, where teams will present their solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. This year’s Challenge Camp focuses on Sustainable Mobility and Transportation.
