New self-learning course: Spatial data analysis with R

There is a new self-learning course titled “Spatial data analysis with R” available in CSC – IT Center for Science’s Noppe service. The topics of the course include

  • Handling and plotting vector data in R
  • Spatial operations (intersection, clipping, conversions etc)
  • Spatial analysis of vector data (clustering, density surfaces, autocorrelation)
  • Visualizing spatial data
  • Raster basics with R
  • Raster data manipulation
  • Map algebra
  • Spatial modelling with raster data

Materials by Marko Kallio (Aalto university).

To access the course:

  • Open Noppe: noppe.csc.fi and log in.
  • Start new session for “Introduction to geospatial Python”
  • Use RStudio to run the code examples and do the exercises.
