SYKE develops and maintains environmental information systems and spatial data infrastructure. Spatial data sets are updated and new data added regularly. Latest new data sets include Nationally Valuable Blockfield Sites (valtakunnalliset arvokkaat kivikot) and Environmental Noise Maps according to EU Environmental Noise Directive (Ympäristömeludirektiivin mukaiset melualueet 2017). Several spatial data sets are also updated on March including Natura2000 areas, Corine land cover 2018, Flood risk areas and observed floods.
